WHEN A VINYL COVERED POCKET FOLDER WON’T DO, THE SEARCH BEGINS FOR AN ECO FRIENDLY POCKET FOLDER.
The amount of waste in the world is out of control. Each year 80,000 trees are felled just to make pencils, 40-60 million vinyl binders are tossed into landfill and 40 billion used water bottles are thrown away (hopefully some are recycled). When you are looking for green office and school supplies there are a few things to look for:
Post consumer waste (PCW) – no trees are cut down for this. PCW is all paper that was used (perhaps by you) from homes and offices and recycled.
Forest Service Certification (FSC) – Our board has the FSC certification which lets you know that the paper you are using is not harming the forests. If the wood is virgin – it was logged in a way that won’t ruin the watershed, and in a way that permits the forests to continue to function.
Durability – If it doesn’t last for what you want to use it for, it isn’t very eco-friendly.
Well Designed – If you don’t like them – you wont use them.
Naked Binder worked hard to make all of our products sustainable. We use FSC certified 97% post consumer waste (100% recycled) board to make our eco-friendly pocket folders. They are 100% recyclable and we think they are amazing.
